Sunset Home for the Elderly is a private assisted living establishment operated by a team of healthcare professionals with more than 50 years experience.
Sunset Home for the Elderly is a regulated assisted living facility licensed by the State of Maryland to provide services for five clients in either Private Rooms or semi-private rooms with two residents per room.
We furnish seniors who are no longer able to live on their own safely, a place to live, enjoy meals and snacks, and assistance with daily activities such as dressing, bathing, eating, and managing medications 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
Before moving into Sunset Home for the Elderly, the Manager conducts a two part Resident Assessment (Resident Assessment and Functional Assessment) to assess the resident’s level of care that is required and whether he/she qualifies for admission.
This is followed by a Service Plan, which specifies what services are provided based on the Resident Assessment. Resident and family members are encouraged to participate in the Service Plan.
Resident Agreement (Contract): The Resident Agreement will list the services offered, notice of residents’ rights, list of costs, Disclosure Statement; and other documents that residents must sign before admission.
Sunset home for the Elderly is licensed to provide up to three levels of care. Level One means we are authorized to take care of residents with low care needs. Level two means that we can take care of residents with moderate care needs, and level three allows us to care for residents with high-level care needs as well as residents with low or moderate needs. The three Levels of Care makes it possible for residents to age in place without the worry of constant transfers and relocations.
The all-inclusive monthly fee is charged based on the level of care provided. A deposit is required upon admission. Residents are evaluated at the time of admission, and re-evaluations are conducted regularly. In addition to the monthly fee, an additional fee is charged for extra services such as barber and beauty parlor services, and transportation.
Sunset Home for the Elderly accepts personal funds, Long-Term Care Insurance, and Medicaid waivers.
A qualified team of well-trained and experienced processionals provide services 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
We encourage family and friends to visit often and participate in the planning and quality of care heir loved one receives.
Abuse is the physical, sexual, mental, or verbal ill-treatment of a resident or the use of physical or chemical restraints or involuntary seclusion. Abuse, neglect and exploitation are PROHIBITED in the facility.
